Dear Glencairn Families,

The Province of Ontario announced today that all publicly funded and private schools will move to remote learning starting January 5 until at least January 17, 2022.

As we prepare to shift to remote learning during this period, we need to know how many learning devices are required by students for the duration of this remote learning period.

In this regard, parents/guardians are asked to contact the main office: gcp@wrdsb.ca , in order to assess and deploy devices starting Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2022.

It is possible, based on supply and demand, that we may not be able to provide a device for every student and may have to provide devices to those who need them on a per family basis. If your child or home does not have a learning device (i.e., laptop, desktop, Chromebook, iPad, etc.) that your child can use during the provincially directed remote learning period, please contact the school email address provided: gcp@wrdsb.ca. Please make sure you include your child(ren)’s name(s), class (i.e., 4-5A) and teacher for identification.

Families will be asked to complete a device agreement form upon receiving a device.

Additional communication will be coming to you either centrally from the WRDSB, or from your child’s school or teacher, so please monitor the school website (gcp.wrdsb.ca), your email and your School Day account.

All loaned technology must be returned to the school when classes are recalled.
