A Message from Ms. Elmslie!

Dear Glencairn Community,

There is an increase of late arrivals to school each morning. This is difficult to manage in the office and is disruptive to the students’ important morning routines. Also, we are experiencing an increase of drop offs in areas not authorized for parking or student drop off and pick up when children are arriving late to school. A reminder to park at Blessed Sacrament across from the school and walk your student to Glencairn. We are seeing a number of unsafe situations involving cars and parking and I am hearing from families that they feel unsafe at times on the school grounds when dropping off their children to school. We need to come together as a community to support the safety of all of our students at Glencairn.

Thank you for your generous donations to the Food Bank this week. With your support, Glencairn collected many items to support our community over the holiday season and beyond. You are invited to bring a non-perishable food item to our Winter Concert next week as well to continue the seasonal giving.

The students and educators are excited to host you next Thursday December 19, 2024 for our Winter Concert! Please be mindful:

  • enter the school via the door at the back of the school near our gymnasium where the concert will take place
  • doors will open at 9:15 am
  • in order to not exceed our Fire Code capacity, we are asking families to limit concert-goers to 2 family members or friends
  • strollers/wagons need to remain outside of the school
  • access to washroom facilities will not be available on Thursday to concert guests
  • to protect all of our students’ privacy, photos and video recordings are not permitted at the Winter Concert

We look forward to welcoming you next week and showcasing Glencairn’s students’ many talents! The educators and students have been hard at work preparing for you.
