A Message from Ms. Elmslie!
Dear Glencairn Community,
Our school community has a wonderful opportunity to come together this week to celebrate, ‘Carnaval’! Much thanks goes to our teacher organizers: Megan Cable and Erin Miller! Students enjoyed pre-learning about the traditions surrounding ‘Carnaval’ before themselves engaging in a variety of activities today outside and inside: sledding, snow painting, hockey, tug-of-war, gaga ball, musical chairs, creating their own edible snowman, face painting and a tattoo station. Also supporting our ‘Carnaval’ is our amazing School Council who purchased a warm drink and treat for our students; and, they supported us by serving the students during the afternoon.
Reflex Math is an adaptive game-based learning system designed to help students improve their math fluency. The WRDSB has provided access to all students in Grades 2 to 7. We are excited to offer a free 45-minute webinar for parents and guardians, of grades 2 – 7 students, to support their child’s math learning at home through Go for the Green with Reflex. This session will help families understand how to monitor their child’s progress and effectively use Reflex Math at home.
The webinar will be offered on the following dates:
