A Message from Ms. Elmslie!
Dear Glencairn Community,
I hope that students were able to go outside yesterday and play in the snow or help to shovel driveways and walkways!
We had a very productive School Council meeting on Wednesday; thank you to the caregivers who braved the weather to join us in person at the school and thank you to those who joined the meeting on-line. At the meeting, the School Council approved funds for the entire Kindergarten division to host ‘Scientists in the School’ , the name of the program the children will experience is ‘Nature Trek’ and tied learning about the land. As well, the School Council approved funds for a bus for Glencairn’s Kodaly Choir to attend area rehearsals to prepare for the concert at the Centre in the Square in May. And, the School Council also approved funds for a treat for students during our Olympics activities in February. These are a few examples of how the fundraising School Council engages in impacting students directly with unique experiences. Please consider attending a School Council meeting in the future!
The next School Council supported event will be the Glencairn Book Sale on Friday January 23, 2026! All varieties of books will be available to purchase for students for $1 during the day when students visit the sale with their class. And, we haven’t forgotten about you too! The book sale will run until 5:00 pm on Friday; please come and check out the selection of adult books and children’s games and puzzles on sale at that time. Thank you to all of the Glencairn community members who donated books, games and puzzles who made this sale possible.
