A Message from Ms. Elmslie!

Dear Glencairn Community,

Yesterday was a beautiful winter day perfect for hosting our Glencairn Olympics! Thank you to our grade 6 leaders for providing active and interesting games for all of us to participate in. You did a great job!

Our grade 3 to 6 students have a very unique and special opportunity to learn alongside Ojibway Chef Destiny Moser next Monday and Tuesday. The students will learn about Indigenous Food Sovereignty. In addition, the students will prepare two dishes with Indigenous history. Please remember to ask your student about “Three Sister Soup”!

A reminder to all community members that the Waterloo Region District School Board recognizes that all members of the school community have the right to be safe and to feel safe in their school community. With this right comes the responsibility of the entire school community to contribute to a positive school climate. Please keep this in mind when interacting with all of the Glencairn educators either in person or through electronic communication.
