June 1st, 2026
On Monday, June 1, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) will recognize Ontario Day.
Introduced in 2021 through Bill 173, Ontario Day recognizes the contributions Ontarians have made to the province’s social, economic, political and cultural fabric.
This year, the Ministry of Education is asking students, staff, and school communities to come together to learn about and reflect on the remarkable contributions of the people of Ontario. Ontario’s people, resources, and achievements have played a vital role in driving progress across Canada and beyond. By exploring Ontario’s history, students gain a deeper appreciation of the shared experiences, key milestones, and lasting contributions that continue to shape the province we call home.
